Since the launch of Google+, a lot of people as well as James have been talking about how to use the site for podcasting. Well today we decided to do it so you could listen to the results. Episode 34 talks about the features of Google Hangout and how you could use them to podcast.
For people who are curious about how we recorded this show, we recorded the sound using a digital mixer (an Alesis Multimix 8) which behaves like a sound card, and we recorded the output directly to computer.

We’re asking the question: Would you use Google+ Hangouts to podcast? Why?

HEy JAmes, Hey Rooster!
Greetings from Canada!
Long time listener here, been listening ever since I found you on Podcast alley and loved your “Recording on Skype special” and went all the way back to listen to the first episodes, great content, obviously I am very Glad Dave overcame the health scare he needed treatment for, seems our Rooster will stick around well above his 90′s! long live the Rooster!
On a different subject: I am REALLY interested in getting to know Google plus simply because…Well let’s call a spade a spade: Anon is supposed to hit them next November, they will not go beyond disrupting the service, nothing really apocalyptic but I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally do not want to be there when it hits the fan… Is there any chance you guys could spare a some chang…erm I meant a google plus invite? (*pretty please*)
If you do I can guarantee my christmas list will magically open two new slots…
Cheers!
Joe
Great show as always guys, although was a little heavy on the self promotion at the start. I had to wait 25 minutes until you actually started talking about podcasting. It was worth it though.
Hey guys, I’d love to get an invite to Google+. ***@***.com Found your show a couple months ago and have been through the back catalog. Always good stuff.
I like the look of it, it seems like it would be good for recording podcasts.
Seeing him like this in Google Hangouts recording a show makes him look a little bit Leo Laporte-ish, doesn’t it. He’s a bit like an expensive McDonalds burger – just a little bit fancy!
Hey Dave…
From the looks of that shot you have a new microphone, boom and shock mount. Getting a bit fancy pants these days eh?
